Family

We offer specialist advice on all issues arising from your relationship breakdown both before and after separation. We want to ensure that the emotional and financial costs of divorce or family breakdown are minimised for all involved. If you have children, we will work closely with you to ensure that their needs are central to the advice that we give you. Our expert solicitors are committed to providing you with a highest level of client care and will work closely with you to achieve the best possible outcome for you and to ensure that you are fully involved in all aspects of your case. If your case requires expert advice from other professionals such as accountants or pension actuaries, we will advise in relation to selection of the most appropriate expert for you.
The head of our family law department, Susan McCabe, is an Accredited Advanced Member of the Law Society’s Family Law Panel with her specialist areas being financial settlements and issues relating to children. Susan is a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel and will give you expert advice on all matters relating to the arrangements for your children. As a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel Susan represents parents and other family members in private law proceedings and public law (care) proceedings as well as representing children themselves when appropriate.
We emphasise negotiation and agreement rather than conflict and confrontation in the application of family law to suit the special circumstances of your case. This approach makes it much less likely that you will end up in costly court proceedings. If court proceedings do become necessary, then we will ensure the highest standards of representation on your behalf. If your situation requires urgent or emergency action, we are ready to respond in order to take all necessary steps to safeguard your position and your assets. If urgent action is required in relation to any aspect of the arrangements or care of your children, we will give timely sensible advice followed up with agreed action.
